November might not be the first month that comes to mind when planning a Caribbean vacation. But if you’re considering a trip to Saint Lucia, don’t dismiss it just yet!
The island is warm, the landscapes are green, and there’s plenty to see and do on the island. November sits at an interesting point in Saint Lucia’s event and tourism calendar, so naturally, it comes with a little more uncertainty than December or January.
November starts the winter influx of visitors looking to warm up away from their colder countries. And for locals, we’re preparing for December activities.
So, is it a good time to visit? Absolutely, depending on what you’re looking for.
It’s the calm before the winter busyness, and it’s ideal if you’d like to experience Saint Lucia at a quieter pace.
What is the Weather Like in St. Lucia in November?
November is typically warm and is one of those transition months between the wet and dry seasons in Saint Lucia. It’s not the perfect month for travelers who want guaranteed sunshine (almost) every day.
According to Saint Lucia Meteorological Services, the wet season generally runs from June through November, while the dry season runs from December through May.
Some days, there are rain, so it’s advisable to keep your umbrella handy. You might enjoy a beautiful sunny morning followed by a tropical shower in the afternoon into evening. So don’t plan your entire vacation around the assumption that it’ll rain all day, but bear in mind that it might right some days.
If you’re planning a hike, waterfall visit, or boat excursion, leave some flexibility in your day.
We recommend holding comfortable, non-slip walking shoes, sunscreen, and an umbrella for your November getaway.
Crowds and Prices in November
November falls right before the main winter tourism season. This is one of the biggest advantages of traveling to Saint Lucia in November: enjoying the warm Caribbean weather without arriving during the height of the holiday rush.
We’re not suggesting that hotels and resorts are inexpensive, but they could be more affordable during November. It also really depends on where you stay and when you book.
If you have a particular resort/villa/hotel in mind, we advise you to compare prices for your exact dates rather than assuming it will always be cheaper.
What Happens in St. Lucia in November?
November doesn’t have one defining event that the entire island looks forward to in the same way that Carnival defines July and the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival defines May. That being said, there are a few points of interest.
Nov 22 — Saint Cecilia’s Day: the celebration of music.
It’s traditionally observed as the Feast of Musicians, and this date has a special place in the island’s calendar.
The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) typically organizes events around the occasion. The program varies from year to year, so be sure to look it up ahead of time so you can plan accordingly, if interested.
Nov 22 — The start of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC).
On this day, it departs from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, but the atmosphere at Rodney Bay Marina located in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia shifts slightly and you can feel the anticipation of the mid-December arrival in the air.
So if you’re staying in the north of the island during your trip, keep an eye on what’s happening in Rodney Bay.

Things to Do in St. Lucia in November
The good news is that many of the island’s best experiences are still available in November.
Explore Soufrière and the Pitons
If there’s one place you shouldn’t leave Saint Lucia without seeing, it’s Soufrière.
It’s home to the island’s most recognizable landmarks: Gros Piton and Petit Piton. These two volcanic peaks are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are among the most photographed sights in the Caribbean.
You can also visit the Sulphur Springs — home to the world’s only drive-in volcano — and experience the mineral-rich mud baths. If you want to add a stop with more greenery, make it the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens to enjoy a quieter experience with tropical plants, flowers, birds, soothing mineral baths, and a beautiful waterfall.
Local tip: Don’t try to squeeze all attractions into a single day. Soufrière has plenty to see but the roads are winding. Getting
Spend Some Time at the Beach
Thanks to the year-round tropical climate, November is always warm enough for beach days, swimming, and snorkeling. The best beach depends on where you’re staying and what kind of experience you want.
A few worth considering: Sugar Beach or Anse Chastanet in Soufrière or Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet.
Take a Tour of The Historic District of Choiseul
Choiseul is the heart of Saint Lucia’s arts and crafts. If you are interested in pottery, stone and wood carving, or any type of straw craft, it’s a must for your St Lucian itinerary.
When you book a UVF transfer with King Stone, you can opt-in for a complimentary drive-through tour of the village of Choiseul.
Experience the Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party
The Gros Islet Friday Night Street Party is one of Saint Lucia’s best-known weekly events. The streets come alive with music, food, drinks, and people from all over the island, and the world.
It’s a different experience from a resort dinner or planned excursion, so if you fancy an evening with local food, great vibes, and music, this just may be it.

Explore the Island’s Waterfalls and Gardens
Saint Lucia’s waterfalls, gardens, and rainforest experiences are worth considering in November; right when the island is still lush from the wetter months. Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens is definitely a must-do.
Getting Around St. Lucia in November
Saint Lucia truly is beautiful, but getting around could be a task in itself. The roads are winding, the terrain is mountainous, and a short distance on the map doesn’t always mean it’s a short journey.
If you’re planning your trip to St. Lucia, think about transportation before you arrive.
→ Pre-book your driver and tours with King Stone
Besides a private driver, other options include renting a car, local buses, or hotel transportation. Each comes with their pros and cons.
For peace of mind, safety, an experienced team, and tons of fun (and free extras), book with King Stone.
A private driver can be more convenient when you’re just arriving, for longer journeys, or days when you’d rather enjoy your getaway (instead of focusing on unfamiliar roads).
If you’re flying into Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) and staying in the north, remember that the drive can take a while.
